Foreword from the College Principal
Welcome to the Gauteng Community Education Training College. We are a College that seeks to expand access to education for the most disadvantaged and vulnerable through our Community Learning Centres. We are fully aware that improving educational achievements will require the knitting together of multiple approaches, first of which is dedication.
Our wish is to remain a relevant catchment area to our out-of-school youth and adults. There is no question that much remains to be done to accommodate and address illiteracy and the shortage of skills in our communities. Our institution exists to offer a fair chance for participation and improvement of academic competency and character for the grassroots citizenry.
As a College we recognise that a skilled workforce and entrepreneurship is a prerequisite for a competitive and prosperous economy, especially in Gauteng. It is on this premise that we wish to ensure that sufficient and appropriate skills are on offer at all our Centres. Our programmes are directed at job creation, innovations, poverty alleviation, social development and environmental protection in general.
Through the implementation of correct strategies informed by the local need analysis, we hope to raise our standards and to create more opportunities for our standards and to create more opportunities for every student to reach their full support.
